When a large market order enters the book, a multi-LP setup can split execution across LP A and LP B based on real-time spreads, improving fill rate while reducing market impact.

Multi-LP architecture shifts the operator from simply accessing liquidity to actively managing liquidity. The value comes from observability, routing control, and the ability to optimize execution over time.

Model 3: Liquidity Aggregator Architecture

A liquidity aggregator consolidates multiple external exchanges, primary market makers, LPs, internal liquidity pools, and OTC desks through a unified, optimized access layer. Smart order routing can then seek better execution across available venues.

  • Best fit: Multi-asset exchanges, platforms running spot and derivatives together, OTC desks, copy trading ecosystems, and prop trading businesses that need fast market expansion.
  • Strengths: Broader depth, faster integration of new venues, highly flexible algorithmic routing, and faster expansion into new assets or trading products.
  • Risks: Operators must understand routing transparency, quote quality, fee structure, outage handling, and the degree of control retained inside the exchange.
